Maroc Hebdo

Maroc Hebdo is a weekly French-language magazine. It was created in November 1991 by Mohamed Selhami, and is edited by Maroc Hebdo Company, first implemented in France, then closed down in 2015 and moved to Morocco. Of its 15 200 copies printed, it diffuses at an average of 4 544 copies and its paid individual purchases average 3 244 copies.

In 2012, the magazine was highly criticized for its racist cover reading: "the black peril" ("Le péril noir"), in reference to Sub-Saharan migration to Morocco. Another scandal followed in 2015, as the weekly was deemed to vehicle homophobia, due once again to its cover with the title: "Should gays be burned?" ("Faut-il brûler les homos ?").

Following the Moroccan Leaks by 'Cris Coleman', confidential information was published regarding the payment of Maroc Hebdo's legal fees in a trial brought against it by French Journalist Joseph Tual. In this trial, taking place in France, Tual accused Maroc Hebdo and its director of attacks in the press and defamation. In the leaks regarding this affair, the legal fees of Maroc Hebdo were addressed to the Director of Morocco's external intelligence agency, Yassine Mansouri.
